Jim, did you know that light has played a role in medicine for thousands of years?

Hippocrates used exposure to sunlight as one of the cornerstones of his treatment for the sick, as he realized the light generated by the sun had the ability to kill bacteria, heal infections, and energize the body.

Energy-based therapies such as photodynamic therapy (PDT) are some of the most effective non-toxic therapies available today to fight cancer and induce profound photochemical, biochemical, and physiological effects at a cellular level.

In this week’s episode of the Cancer Conversation webinar series, Dr. Daniel Roney DC discusses how light therapies naturally fight and prevent cancer.

The learning objectives for this week's FREE WEBINAR will focus on helping you to understand the relationship between light, photosensitizers, and how to start leveraging the power of light to naturally fight cancer.

  • What is light, and how does it help prevent and fight cancer?
  • How does photodynamic therapy work, and what are the benefits?
  • Non-toxic cancer treatments available with photodynamic therapy at the Cancer Center for Healing in the integrative oncology treatment program.
  • What is a photosensitizer, and how are they used in photodynamic therapy?
  • Review the commonly used photosensitizers, and how they are selected based on the wellness goal and type of cancer.
  • Benefits of methylene blue, curcumin, ozone, riboflavin, and other photosensitizers administered via IV in the integrative oncology program.
  • How different wavelengths of light have different properties to impact the mitochondria and other cellular components.
  • How to pair the right color (wavelength of light) with the appropriate photosensitizer for targeted therapeutic benefits specific to wellness goals.

P.S. If you cannot attend the Live Cancer Conversation, we will send out a Free Replay to everyone that registers by Wednesday

What is Photodynamic Therapy?

By definition, Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is fighting cancer with light and harnessing the power of PHOTOSENSITIZERS to activate biological responses at various wavelengths.

When photosensitizers are exposed to a specific wavelength of light, they produce active oxygen radicals that can destroy targeted cells.

E
ach photosensitizer is activated by light of a specific wavelength, which determines how far the light can travel into the body. These photosensitizers are very specific in binding targeted malignant or other diseased or infectious cells within the body.

A photosensitizer is typically administered into the bloodstream intravenously and absorbed by cells all over the body, residing in cancer cells longer. The photosensitizer in the tumor absorbs the light & produces an active form of oxygen that destroys nearby cancer cells.

In addition to directly killing cancer cells, PDT appears to shrink or destroy tumors in two other ways.  The photosensitizer can damage blood vessels in the tumor, thereby preventing cancer from receiving necessary nutrients.

The most commonly used photosensitizers used in the Integrative Oncology Program at the Cancer Center for Healing are: Methylene Blue, Curcumin Riboflavin, Poly MVA, DCA, Artesunate/Artemisinin, Vitamin C, and certain chemo agents as dictated by the RGCC Cancer Test.

This is not like radiation therapy, which uses radicals and a toxic light source. Nor does it cause systematic side effects like chemotherapy. The light and molecules photodynamic therapy uses are non-toxic and benign.
